|92-94 THE WINEADVOCATE: "The 2019 Clos Lunelles is a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested on the 7th and 8th of October. The yields this year were 26 hectoliters per hectare, and the alcohol came in at 14.48%, while the pH was 3.52 (remarkably low!). Very deep garnet-purple colored, it wafts out of the glass with enticing notes of spiced blackberries, Black Forest cake and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of cinnamon stick, red roses and Darjeeling tea. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers a rock-solid frame of firm, grainy tannins, with tons of freshness supporting the bright, crunchy fruit, finishing long and savory. Impressive!"
93 FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Zart kräuterwürzig unterlegte schwarze Beerennote, Anklänge von Cassis und Grapefruitzesten, zarte Edelholzwürze. Kraftvoll, frische Kirschen, feines Nougat, reife, tragende Tannine, schokoladiger Touch im Abgang, ein stoffiger, mineralisch unterlegter Speisenbegleiter mit Reifepotenzial."
91-93 ANTONIO GALLONI: " The 2019 Clos Lunelles has an intense bouquet, very focused, perhaps a little "stricter" compared to recent vintages with scents of macerated black cherries, blueberry, crushed violets and incense, a subtle honeyed element loitering in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, less stocky and aggressive than some vintages of this Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, though still sinewy with a tight insistent grip on the finish. It will require several years of cellaring but will appeal to readers who seek a powerful, robust Right Bank Bordeaux." - Neal Martin
90-92 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2019 Clos Lunelles is fabulous. Plush, deep and wonderfully inviting, Clos Lunelles is firing on all cylinders today. Dark cherry jam, mint, cinnamon, spice and leather are pushed forward in this mid-weight, pliant 2019. The Cabernets are especially expressive in both the wine´s aromatic and structural profile."
92-94+ JEB DUNNUCK: "Coming from the cooler Castillon region, the deeply hued 2019 Clos Lunelles offers up a beautiful bouquet of ripe black cherries, cassis, graphite, violets, camphor, and crushed stone. It has a terrific sense of minerality, medium to full body, and a great finish. There are enough tannins to warrant 2-4 years of bottle age, and it will evolve for a decade or more."
