90-92+ THE WINEADVOCATE: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Clos du Roy has quite an oaky/cedary nose to begin, soon giving way to vibrant black cherries, warm plums and ripe blackberries scents with touches of tobacco leaf and new leather. Full-bodied, big, rich and concentrated (15% alcohol), the palate exudes black fruit preserves and spicy accents, framed by firm, ripe, rounded tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing on a minty note."
93-95 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2019 Les Grandes Murailles has a wonderful black cherry, blueberry and violet scented bouquet, underneath which lies subtle iodine and oyster shell aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very cohesive with a granular texture, the backbone disguised underneath the layers of black fruit. Very impressive persistency here, this is potentially a great Les Grandes Murailles." - Neal Martin
91-93 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2019 Les Grandes Murailles is classy and polished to the core. In 2019, Grandes Murailles has a bit more richness and depth than it usually does, which here is a positive as at times this Saint-Émilion can be a bit lean. Not in 2019. Ripe red cherry, plum, mocha, cedar, new leather and spice all flesh out in the glass. Aging in equal parts barrique and amphora gives the fruit tremendous presence. Rich, textured and so seductive, the 2019 is a total pleasure bomb, and yet it retains its classic sense of structure. This is such a gorgeous wine."
92-94 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Dark garnet in color, the wine is all about the smoke, licorice, espresso bean, flowers, wet earth, and black with dark red fruits. Opulently textured, sexy in style, long and velvety in the finish, give this 4-5 years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 2 decades as it ages and evolves. The wine is made from 100% old vine Merlot."
92-94 JEB DUNNUCK: "Ample red and black currants, leafy herbs, and chocolate notes emerge from the 2019 Château Les Grandes Murailles, and this rich, full-bodied Saint-Emilion has lots of fruit and texture, building tannins, and a great finish. It´s a powerful, meaty effort that´s going to need 3-4 years of bottle age yet keep for 20 years or more."
