WEINWISSER: "85 % Merlot, 13 % Cabernet Franc, 2 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.5 Vol.-%, 38 hl/ha. Komplexes Bouquet, frischgepflückte rote Kirsche, saftige Himbeere, rotes Johannisbeergelee und zarte Graphitnoten. Am eleganten Gaumen mit weicher Textur, herrlicher Extraktfülle, balancierter Rasse, engmaschigem Tanningerüst und athletischem Körper. Im aromatischen langanhaltenden Finale mit vibrierender Rasse sowie rotbeerigen Konturen, alles in Balance und kann noch zulegen. Top-Wert aus St. Émilion."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Blackberry, walnut and crushed-stone aromas follow through to a medium-bodied palate with medium, round tannins and a juicy, pretty finish. Polished and fine for the vintage."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Aromas of sweet cherries, berries, petals and loamy soil introduce the 2021 La Dominique, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless wine that's attractively deep and complete, with ripe tannins, lively acids and a long, sapid finish. It's a blend of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon from this estate in the ascendant."

DECANTER: "A dark nose with blackcurrant, bramble, dark chocolate and liquorice notes. Succulent and gently juicy on the palate, this has seamless, refined, silky tannins that fill the mouth and give just the right support to the fruit, while the minerality, liquorice, graphite and slate edging give more structure. It has tension, the flavours more linear than expansive, with a clarity and persistence from start to finish. A good effort and will reward with age. You really do feel the terroir at the end with a salinity and crushed stone grip. Creditable winemaking this vintage. Tasted twice. Julien Viaud consultant."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Lots of red and black fruits, dried herbs, graphite, and a kiss of minerality emerge from the 2021 Château La Dominique, a downright pretty, elegant Saint-Emilion that comes from vines on the upper plateau, not far from the Pomerol border. Beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, and elegant on the palate, with quality tannins, it has lots of character and is going to drink brilliantly for 15+ years. This is an estate readers should have on their radar as the quality here continues to rise."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Flowers and red fruits show nicely in the perfume. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is soft, elegant, polished, silky and sweet, with accents of espresso, peppery spice, herbs and cocoa in the dusty, earthy, and refined endnote. The wine blends 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Franc. 13.5% ABV. The wine is aged in 50% new, French oak, and 10% amphora. You can enjoy this on release. Drink from 2023-2038."

FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Schwarze Herzkirschen, zarte Zwetschkenfrucht, ein Hauch von Vanille, kandierte Orangenzesten. Mittlerer Körper, rote Kirschen, präsente Tannine, frisch strukturiert, etwas Nougat im Abgang, hat einiges Potenzial."
