90-92+ THE WINEADVOCATE: "Deep purple-black in color, the 2019 La Rousselle leaps from the glass with bold expressions of baked plums, blueberry preserves and fruitcake with hints of Morello cherries, spice cake, cardamom and aniseed. The medium to full-bodied palate has lovely energy, with a refreshing backbone and some bright, crunchy fruit lending verve to the berry preserves flavors, framed by soft, rounded tannins, finishing with a skip in its step. This 3.31-hectare vineyard in La Rivière is planted at 5,500 vines per hectare, with an average age in 2019 of 49 years. It was recently acquired by Belgian entrepreneur, Enzo Ide, who is also the owner of Château Lucia in Saint-Émilion."
92-93 JAMES SUCKLING: " Blueberries, crushed stones and graphite on the nose and palate. It’s medium-to full-bodied with tight, polished tannins and a flavorful finish."
90-92 JEB DUNNUCK: "From the upper plateau in Fronsac and a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Château La Rousselle should be a hidden gem in the vintage. Fresh and lively notes of blackcurrants, black cherries, sappy herbs, and spring flowers all give way to a medium-bodied, nicely textured Fronsac that´s going to benefit from just a handful of years of bottle age and keep for a decade."
