90-92 THE WINEADVOCATE: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Sanctus drifts effortlessly from the glass with bold black plum preserves, warm blackberries and mulberries scents plus hints of tree bark, Sichuan pepper and hoisin with a touch of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with muscular fruit and great freshness, framed by chewy tannins and finishing earthy."

92-94 WINE ENTHUSIAST: "This is a fine, balanced and perfumed wine that is rich in smooth tannins. It has a great structure sustained by the big fruits and should age well."

91-92 JAMES SUCKLING: "A deep and satisfying young wine with blackberry and walnut-skin character. Hints of chocolate. Medium to full body. Flavorful finish."

91-93 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2018 Sanctus is a rich, creamy Saint-Émilion built on textural resonance and depth. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and spice build in a wine that balances fruit intensity with fresher notes from these limestone soils. The 2018 is absolutely impeccable."

91-93 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Round, fleshy, ripe and centered around its layers of dark, ripe fruits, there is vibrancy and a spicy edge to the smoky plums, licorice and wet earth."

92-94 JEB DUNNUCK: "Based on 95% Merlot, with the balance Malbec and Cabernet Franc, all from clay and limestone soils, the 2018 Château Rol Valentin reveals a deep purple color as well as thrilling notes of blue fruits, wild strawberries, and spring flowers. It’s medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure, silky, and elegant, with a great texture. It’s a seriously good Saint-Émilion that’s going to start to shine in 2-4 years and cruise for 15+."
