|91-93 THE WINEADVOCATE: "Displaying a deep purple-black color, the 2020 Sanctus rolls out of the glass with exuberant notes of ripe blackberries, mulberries and preserved plum, plus suggestions of kirsch, Indian spices and dried Provence herbs, plus a touch of unsmoked cigars. The full-bodied palate has a seriously racy backbone lifting the rich black fruits with a plush texture and a long spicy finish."
93-94 JAMES SUCKLING: "Plenty of ripe fruit with creamy, polished tannins that give form to the blackberry, blueberry and wet-earth character. Flavorful finish."
92-94 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2020 Sanctus is a huge wine, inky, creamy and possessing off-the-charts richness. Even so, it retains striking energy and vibrancy. Raspberry jam, chocolate, rose petal, pomegranate and blood orange all build over time, and sweet floral notes perk up the finish. This unabashedly flamboyant Saint-Émilion has a ton to offer. I loved it."
92-94 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Fruit cake, blackberry, plum, spice and licorice nuances create the perfume. Medium-bodied, soft, silky, sweet and fresh with core of ripe, supple, sultry fruits accompanied by licorice, espresso, cocoa and a touch of savory herbs. There is a good sense of purity and elegance found here."
90-92 JEB DUNNUCK: "A richer, more black-fruited wine, the 2020 Château Sanctus boasts a dense purple color to go with impressive aromatics of scorched earth, chocolate, currants, and smoked tobacco. It’s a big, rich, layered wine that delivers lots of fruit as well as a great finish. It doesn’t show the elegance of the La Bienfaisance release, but it’s still loaded with potential."
